Liverpool in black & white

Early in 2026 I thought, Liverpool, that’s somewhere I’ve never been. An idea developed to spend a couple of days in the city with family whilst grabbing some hopefully portfolio shots. The more I considered the trip, and wanting to lean into the whole Beatles experience I decided to use my Fuji X100vi and capture a 60’s style grainy vibe in my shots! The results are below.

The Royal Liver Building in all its glory.

The grandiose scale and brutalist style of the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral.

A typical Liverpool street. The symmetry caught my eye passing here.

The Wheel of Liverpool on a moody looking day.

Brutalist and dominant.

The Great Western Railway building, a shadow of past wealth.

Love Locks by the Mersey.

The Merchant Navy Memorial.

And onto the Beatles.

Inside the Cavern Club..

Rock n Roll LPs

A mock up of the Cavern Club in the Beatles Story Museum.

Local bird life watching the world go by.

Had to finish with the fab 4!
